The Sinking City 2 Bucking Bronco Revolver

Last verified · TSC2 Wiki

The Bucking Bronco is a large-calibre revolver rewarded for completing Holloway Manor, the side mission included with the Premium Edition of The Sinking City 2. It is the game's highest per-shot damage option, built for impulsive fire rather than sustained accuracy.

Cross-checkedConfirmed against several independent walkthroughs of the build 1.0 (launch build, August 2026) on August 22, 2026. Codes and sequences in this game are fixed, not randomised per save. If a patch changes this, tell us on the contact page and we will re-check and re-date the page.

How to unlock it

One route only: finish the Holloway Manor mission, which ships with the Premium Edition. The mission runs roughly two hours as a largely standalone haunted-house scenario, and the revolver is its completion reward.

There is no in-campaign alternative. If you own Standard or Deluxe, the Bucking Bronco is not obtainable, and Frogwares has not announced a separate sale of the mission.

How it performs

It is the heaviest single-target weapon available. The trade is cadence and ammunition: a revolver that hits hard fires slowly and does not want to be your answer to a group. Used as a second weapon alongside a shotgun or SMG, it solves exactly the problems those guns are bad at — an elite enemy that soaks a magazine, or something you need dead before it reaches you.

Frogwares describes it as suited to impulsive fire, which is a fair summary: it rewards a decisive shot rather than a careful sequence.

When to go and get it

Early. A weapon is worth more the longer you carry it, and the campaign's harshest stretch is chapters 2 and 3, before talents are established.

The counter-argument is that the manor is not tuned as your first content. A reasonable compromise is to play it after The Wake-Up Call, once you have the submachine gun and a talent or two equipped.

Pairing it

The revolver wants a partner that handles crowds, because it does not. Two combinations that work:

  • Bucking Bronco + Field Surgeon. Heavy single-target and close-quarters crowd control. The most forgiving pairing in the game.
  • Bucking Bronco + The Minuteman. More ammunition-hungry, but covers groups at range.

Weapon parts matter here: weak-point conditions suit the revolver, while sustained-fire parts belong on whatever else you carry.

Is it worth buying Premium for?

The revolver alone, probably not. The revolver plus two hours of authored mission for ten dollars over Standard is a better argument, and it is the only edition upgrade in the game that adds actual gameplay — the editions comparison lays out all three tiers.

Nothing about the Bucking Bronco changes trophies, endings or difficulty balance. It is a good gun, not a required one.

Where it sits against the campaign guns

Ranked purely on damage per shot, the Bucking Bronco is the top of the list. Ranked on how many enemies a full inventory of its ammunition will kill, it sits mid-table, because heavy rounds are scarcer and slower to fire than handgun rounds.

That is the tension worth understanding about every weapon in this game: the strongest gun and the most useful gun are rarely the same thing, and a run that leans on the revolver alone will spend more time hunting supplies than a run built on the handgun and shotgun. Used as the answer to specific problems rather than as a default, it is excellent.

If Holloway Manor is not showing up

  • Check your edition. Standard and Deluxe do not include it.
  • Check the map for available tasks — Frogwares' own advice when an objective cannot be found.
  • Restart the game after an upgrade purchase so entitlements re-check; on Steam, verifying files forces a re-sync.

The Sinking City 2 FAQ

How do you get the Bucking Bronco?

Complete the Holloway Manor mission, which comes with the Premium Edition.

Can I get it in the Standard Edition?

No. It is tied to Premium-only content.

Is it the best weapon in the game?

It has the highest per-shot damage, but the shotgun remains a better all-round pick because ammunition economy decides most fights.
