The Sinking City 2 System Requirements
Last verified · TSC2 Wiki
Minimum is Windows 11 x64, a Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600X, 16 GB RAM and a GTX 1070 or RX 5700 with 8 GB VRAM for 1080p/30 on Low. Recommended is a Core i5-14600K or Ryzen 5 7600X, 32 GB RAM and an RTX 4070 Ti or RX 7900 XT for 1440p/60 on Medium. An SSD is required and the install is 70 GB.
OfficialThese are Frogwares' published requirements from the Steam store page, quoted rather than estimated. The studio notes the specs were evaluated using TSR and comparable upscaling technologies.

The two lines people skip
The Sinking City 2 system requirements treat the SSD as a requirement, not a suggestion. The install file size is 70 GB. This is a streaming-heavy Unreal Engine 5 title, and Frogwares' own FAQ already notes that props and assets can take a moment to finish loading after entering a level. On a mechanical drive that becomes constant pop-in and stutter.
32 GB of RAM is the recommended figure, which is higher than most 2026 releases ask for. 16 GB will run it — that is the minimum spec — but if you are on 16 GB and considering an upgrade anyway, this is a game that will use the extra.
What the targets actually mean
Frogwares is unusually specific here, and the specificity is worth reading carefully: minimum hardware targets 1080p at 30 fps on the Low preset, and recommended targets 1440p at 60 fps on Medium. Both figures were evaluated with upscaling enabled — TSR and comparable technologies.
In practice that means a GTX 1070 is a 30 fps experience with upscaling doing real work, not a comfortable 60. Plan accordingly.
Upscaling and frame generation
Two things constrain your options at launch:
- AMD FSR is not supported. Frogwares states AMD has not released the plugin required for Unreal Engine 5.8.
- DLSS Frame Generation requires an RTX 40 or 50 series card, and Windows Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling must be enabled.
If you use frame generation on a 60 Hz display, turn V-Sync off — that is the studio's own guidance. Everything on this is on the DLSS and FSR page.
If you are below minimum
The Low preset has known visual artefacting on low-end graphics cards, which Frogwares lists in its own known issues. Dropping resolution from 4K or 1440p to 1080p is the studio's first suggestion for improving performance, followed by lowering settings and trying different upscaling modes.
The full tuning order is on the best settings page, and if the game is crashing rather than merely running badly, start with the official crash fixes.
Checking whether you can run The Sinking City 2
Three checks settle it faster than any benchmark tool. Do you have an SSD with 70 GB free? Is your GPU at least a GTX 1070 or RX 5700 with 8 GB of VRAM? Do you have 16 GB of system RAM? If all three are yes, The Sinking City 2 will run — at 1080p and 30 fps with upscaling, which is the minimum target Frogwares publishes.
If you want 1440p at 60, the recommended tier is the honest answer, and the gap between the two tiers here is unusually wide — a GTX 1070 and an RTX 4070 Ti are generations apart.
Console equivalents
Frogwares has not published per-console performance modes. What the platform review scores suggest is that the console versions ran better relative to expectations than the PC version did: 84 on Xbox Series X and 79 on PS5, against 75 on PC. If you have a choice and do not want to tune settings, that is a meaningful data point.
The Sinking City 2 FAQ
Can I run it on a GTX 1070?
Yes — that is the minimum GPU, targeting 1080p at 30 fps on Low with upscaling enabled.
How big is the install?
70 GB, and an SSD is required rather than recommended.
How much RAM does it need?
16 GB minimum, 32 GB recommended.
Does it support FSR?
Not at launch. Frogwares says the AMD plugin for Unreal Engine 5.8 has not been released.
