The Sinking City 2 Room 301 Safe Code: 2137

Last verified · TSC2 Wiki

The safe in room 301 of the Devil's Reef Hotel opens with 2137. Room 301 is on the third floor; the code turns up in the hotel's own paperwork, which is scattered across the guest floors you are already searching for Lorelei tokens.

Finding room 301

The Devil's Reef Hotel is the centrepiece of The Wake-Up Call and it is built to disorient: three guest floors with near-identical corridors, a bar, a staff area and a basement. Room 301 is on the third floor, and it is the same floor as the room 303 Lorelei chest — so if you are doing the Lorelei chain, you walk past this safe anyway.

Enter 2137 on the dial.

Do the hotel's locks in one pass

The hotel holds four separate solutions and players usually search for them one at a time, which means four laps of the same corridors. Doing them together saves a lot of walking:

Where the clue is written

The number appears in the hotel's paperwork — the sort of guest and staff documentation lying on desks and in drawers on the guest floors. As always in The Sinking City 2, picking the documents up is not wasted time even if you already know the code, because the same items feed Dream Essence through clue connections.

What is inside

Supplies, weighted toward ammunition. The Wake-Up Call is where the game starts putting real pressure on your reserves — the hotel basement sequence in particular is not somewhere you want to arrive with an empty shotgun.

If you are struggling with resources generally, the ammo page covers where the game reliably restocks you and when walking past a fight is the correct play.

If 2137 does not work

  • You are at the wrong door. Room 301 on floor three, not 201 or 303.
  • You are at a Lorelei chest. Those take tokens, not numbers, and show no dial.
  • You have not confirmed the entry. Set all four digits, then interact again.

Why the hotel eats so much time

The Wake-Up Call is smaller than chapter 1 and takes most players longer. The reason is density: five separate locks in one building, three of which depend on items from the other two, and a floor plan that repeats itself deliberately.

The efficient route is to treat the hotel as a single loop rather than five errands. Get the Staff Key first, because it produces the tokens; take the tokens to all three chests in one pass; open the 301 safe while you are on the third floor; then handle the ventilation device and the wireless set on the way to the basement. Done that way the chapter is about forty minutes. Done one search at a time it is closer to ninety.
