The Sinking City 2 Endings

Last verified · TSC2 Wiki

Frogwares has not published an official number of endings for The Sinking City 2. Several sites filled that gap in launch week with named endings and mission names that cannot be traced to the studio. This section records what the game and the studio actually show, and marks everything else as unconfirmed.

Not announcedNo official ending count exists. If you see a site quoting named endings as fact, the useful question is where the studio said it. Our full list of open questions is published at llms.txt.

What we can say about the ending

The premise is documented and uncontroversial: Calvin Rafferty performed a ritual from the Book of Dreaming that left his lover, Faye Adelaide Bennett, comatose with the ancient Night Shade mask on her face. The whole campaign is his attempt to retrieve her spirit from the Dreamlands using a second ritual.

Everything in Cold Comfort — the Columbarium, the portal device, the fight with Slither Prime — is the conclusion of that attempt.

What we will not claim

During launch week, several sites published confident detail about the endings that has no traceable source: named endings, a named final mission, a "hidden flag system", and a specific ending count attributed to community testing.

We do not repeat any of it. Not because it is definitely wrong, but because none of it can be traced to Frogwares or to first-hand evidence, and a wiki that cannot tell you where a fact came from is not worth reading. Our editorial policy explains the standard.

The pages in this section

Before you reach the finale

Cold Comfort ends the game and there is no chapter select, so the practical advice matters more than the theory:

  1. Run the missable checklist for chapter 5 before you activate the portal device.
  2. Spend every point of Dream Essence.
  3. Top up ammunition — the final boss is a damage check.
  4. Charge the Night Shade if you have Night Ore.

After the credits

Finishing unlocks Ex Oblivione Mode, the game's New Game Plus. It carries your progression, and it is the only place Ex Oblivione codices appear — which is why 100% completion is a two-run project rather than a cleanup pass.

The platinum roadmap divides the work between the two playthroughs.

How this compares to the first game

The 2019 original had multiple documented endings tied to a final choice, and players coming from it reasonably expect the same structure here. That expectation is part of why unsourced ending guides spread so quickly in launch week — the shape felt familiar, so specific claims looked plausible.

What is different this time is the studio's silence on the subject. Frogwares documented the original's structure; for the sequel it has not, and until it does, an honest wiki has to say so.

Why this section is short

Because being honest about it makes it short. There is no long ending guide to write when the underlying facts have not been published.

The rest of this wiki is the opposite — the puzzle pages and code pages run long because those answers are verifiable and repeatable. The difference between the two sections is not effort, it is evidence.

A page that says "Frogwares has not published an ending count" is less satisfying than a page that lists four endings with names, and it is the only one of the two we can stand behind.

If you have finished the game and can document what you saw — including screenshots — the contact page takes contributions, and contributors are credited on the pages they help build.

The Sinking City 2 FAQ

How many endings does The Sinking City 2 have?

Frogwares has not published a number. Sites quoting a specific count with named endings are not citing the studio.

Does the game have multiple endings?

It presents choices during the story, but the number of distinct endings has not been confirmed by the developer.

Is there New Game Plus?

Yes — Ex Oblivione Mode, which carries your progression and is the only place the codices spawn.

Can I go back after the ending?

Not in that save. There is no chapter select, so New Game Plus is the route back.
