The Sinking City 2 Slither Prime Final Boss

Last verified · TSC2 Wiki

Slither Prime, the final boss, requires nothing clever: shoot its head with everything you have, run or dodge its attacks, and deal with the enemies it summons so they do not surround you. It is a damage check, which makes preparation the real fight.

Late-game page. This covers the final encounter's mechanics. Story outcomes are not described here — see the endings section for that.

Cross-checkedConfirmed against several independent walkthroughs of the build 1.0 (launch build, August 2026) on August 22, 2026. Codes and sequences in this game are fixed, not randomised per save. If a patch changes this, tell us on the contact page and we will re-check and re-date the page.

The fight

  1. Target the head. It is the weak point and the only thing worth your ammunition.
  2. Keep moving between shots. Its attacks are avoidable by running or dodging, and standing still to reload in the open is how runs end here.
  3. Clear the summons. Slither Prime calls in additional enemies; ignoring them is how you get surrounded while focused on the boss.
  4. Keep firing. There is no phase gate to solve — sustained damage on the head ends it.

Preparation is the actual fight

Because there is no mechanic to learn, The Sinking City 2 decides this fight before you walk in. That means:

  • Ammunition. Everything you did not spend in Time and Tide is what you fight with.
  • Talents. Spend every point of Dream Essence before the portal device — there is nothing left to save it for.
  • A charged Night Shade. One free revive in a damage race is worth more than any single talent.
  • Your best two weapons. The Bucking Bronco earns its place here if you own it.

Handling the summons

The temptation is to ignore everything except the boss. That works until three Slither Pawns have your back to a wall. The practical rhythm is to punish the head whenever it is available, then clear adds the moment they cluster, then return.

A shotgun handles clusters fastest, which is the argument for carrying one even in a fight that rewards precision — see enemies and weak points.

If you keep dying

  • Lower the difficulty. Any time, from the pause menu, no trophy penalty. The modes.
  • Check whether you skipped chapter 4's optional areas. This is where an under-equipped run gets found out.
  • Reload for a stuck enemy. Frogwares lists collision issues as known, with a reload as the fix.
  • Do not save your consumables. There is nothing after this fight.

Why it is a damage check and not a puzzle

Frogwares bookends the campaign deliberately. The Shoggoth asks whether you can read a room; Slither Prime asks whether you prepared. There is no third mechanic hiding behind the second phase, and looking for one is how people waste ammunition circling the arena.

If the fight feels impossible rather than hard, the problem is almost certainly upstream — an under-searched chapter 4, unspent Dream Essence, or a build still carrying the talents you picked in the hospital.

Frogwares bookends the game with two opposite tests, which is a deliberate structure: the first checks whether you are paying attention, the second checks whether you have been searching.

After the credits

Finishing the game unlocks Ex Oblivione Mode — New Game Plus — which is where the codices live and where the platinum is completed. If any of the finale landed ambiguously, the ending explained page covers what the game actually shows, and is explicit about what Frogwares has never confirmed.
